Marshaling
Ladies Grand Niners Golf Association
PLEASE DO NOT ARGUE WITH THE MARSHALS

This season marshaling for the Ladies Grand Niners league play will be done by the Proshop.

There will be three flags: red, yellow, and green.  During play, the marshals will show a flag, which determines how speed of play is going:

  • If a yellow flag is used, it means to speed up play.
  • If a red flag is used, you must pick up and move to the next hole.
  • The best to receive is a green flag.  It means play is at a good pace.
NEW PLAYING PROCEDURE

Effective at the start of the 2008-2009 Ladies Grand Niners golf season, each foursome playing in the league at both the 12:30 shotgun and 3:00 shotgun will have a Captain in the foursome.  "Player 1" on the scorecard will be the designated Captain.  The responsibilities of the Captain are outlined as follows, but are not limited to this outline:

  • Assist the foursome to keep up the pace of play, i.e. play ready golf.
  • Be familiar with the Play of the Day, and assist if there are any questions or concerns.
  • Review scorecards at the end of the play, and check that everything is marked clearly and legibly, i.e. Birdies, Whammies, etc.  Scores match on both the original scorecard and backup scorecard.
  • Make sure that scorecards are signed.
  • Make sure that the scorecards are turned in at the end of play into the appropriate drawer and appropriate box, i.e. "original" and "backup".
